TEAL is a free, fast developer text editor for MS-DOS and FreeDOS, designed for both classic and modern DOS systems.

It combines a DOS-native interface with features normally associated with more modern code editors: multiple files, projects, syntax highlighting, project-wide search, persistent workspaces and XMS-backed storage.

TEAL is intentionally keyboard-driven and has no mouse support.

  Memory:        approx. 350 KB free conventional memory
                 approx. 1 - 1.5 MB free XMS memory

TEAL has also been tested on real hardware, including an IBM PC 300GL with a Pentium 200 MMX running FreeDOS/MS-DOS 6.22.

[ STATUS ]

TEAL is currently beta software. Bug reports and compatibility reports from real DOS hardware are welcome. When reporting a problem, please include your CPU, amount of RAM, DOS version and video card.

[ ABOUT ]

TEAL was created as a modern-looking, reliable development environment that still runs natively under DOS. The project is written in C and grew out of older Pascal-based editor libraries.

TEAL is freeware. Redistribution of the original, unmodified executable is permitted. See the included license for details.
